Chris and Brook had their ceremony and wedding reception at the Glenora Winery on Seneca Lake. To say that it was a warm day would be an understatement. This area has been in a heat wave for a couple weeks and this day was one of the hottest. Nevertheless, not even this heat could put a damper on the joy of the day.
Immediately after the ceremony, the guests made their way to the dining room for cocktail hour while the Bride, Groom and Wedding party stayed outside for a while longer to have formal photos taken. Jeff Sherner, an amazingly talented guitarist, provided the music for the ceremony and then relocated himself to the patio to provide continuing music during the cocktail hour. He did a great job and this is the second wedding I’ve had the opportunity to work with him.
As the cocktail hour drew to a close, I got the entire wedding party lined up in preparation for the formal introductions. Once the formal introductions were completed, Chris and Brook had their first dance to “Better Together” by Jack Johnson. Everyone then moved into the dining room for the meal. A blessing was given by Rev. Barbara Blom and then toasts by the Best Man – Tyler, Maid of Honor – Heather and Matron of Honor – Candice. Breaking with tradition, we decided to cut the cake immediately after the toasts because the heat was beginning to take it’s toll on the cake.
Dancing on the patio began shortly after everyone had finished the meal and in spite of the heat, dancing was non-stop throughout the evening. A brief stop in the music was included so that Chris could toss her bouquet, followed by the garter removal and toss by the Groom.
It was a great evening of dancing and I’ve got to thank Chris and Brook for choosing me to provide the entertainment. Hope you all enjoy the photos I took.
