Heron Hill Winery is perched in a place that commands expansive and dramatic views of Keuka Lake. This was the amazing setting that Alyssa and Paul chose for their wedding ceremony and reception.

After the ceremony, cocktail hour, with appetizers by Partyman Catering, took place. Music during that time was provided by Ontario Ensemble. Formal Introductions of the wedding party soon followed concluding with the Bride and Groom first dance. Alyssa and Paul chose “Sail Away” by David Gray. Toasts followed and were given by the Matron of Honor – Stacey, Best Man – Mike, Bridesmaid -Liane and Groomsman – Anthony.

After a great meal Alyssa and her father had a dance together to the song Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle while Paul and his mother danced to “You Are The Sunshine of My Life” – Stevie Wonder.

Open dancing with a full dance floor took everyone through the evening to the reluctant ending at 10:30pm.

Another beautiful weekend of weather, another beautiful wedding at the Ithaca Farmers Market. Hugh and Kimberly were such a fun-loving couple and that was so apparent in the way they approached their wedding reception.

The ceremony was right near the water and the views were spectacular.

Cocktail hour followed the ceremony and delicious appetizers were provided by Joe’s Catering.

Formal Introductions and the First Dance followed the cocktail hour. The Bride and Groom danced to Annie’s Song by Rivers Cuomo. Later on were the other formal dances where Kimberly and her father danced to Landslide – Fleetwood Mac while Hugh and his mother danced to Ooh Child – Valerie Carter.

A great meal by Joe’s Catering was followed by the surprise of an ice-cream truck provided by Dennis’ Homemade Ice Cream. That was awesome and just one of the many unique touches Hugh and Kimberly integrated into their wedding.

A packed dance floor made the rest of the evening an enjoyable time for all.

As the summer of 2012 draws to a close, it will be remembered as a summer of amazingly beautiful weather.

Reccia and Matthew chose this day to be married and this day was just fantastic in every way. The setting for the ceremony and wedding was beyond spectacular… and it was at a venue that is little known; Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine located in Lodi, NY with beautiful views of Seneca Lake.

The ceremony took place next to a pond on the property. The cocktial hour was on the decks outside the restaurant and the reception was in the restored barn next door to the restaurant.

A rousing HORA was enjoyed by all immediately prior to the meal. And the meal itself was spectacular… a gourmets delight. Later on in the evening an decadent array of homemade sweets made their appearance.

Reecia, Matt and guests all enjoyed an evening of friendship, laughter and dancing. It was a wonderful evening and I was so happy to be a part of it.

As the spectacular summer of 2012 continues, I had the pleasure of working at the Fontainebleau Inn for the wedding of Caitlyn and Gustavo. The caterer for this wedding was Word of Mouth Catering and the official photographer was Robert Kaussner.

The cocktail hour took place on the patio which overlooks Cayuta Lake (not to be confused with Cayuga Lake.) It’s such an idyllic setting.

I made the formal introductions of the wedding party at the end of the cocktail hour. As the bride and groom made their entrance, they had their first dance to “At Last” by Etta James.

Father Bob gave the blessing before the meal and that was followed by toasts by the Maid of Honor (Caitlyn’s sister) Lauren and then the Best Man (Groom’s brother) Rafael. The official toasts were followed by an unofficial presentation by the Ryck Cousins.

After the meal, Caitlyn and her Father danced to “My Darling” by Wilco.

This was a really fun wedding reception in large part because a good number of guests were from the groom’s home country of Brazil. This presented the opportunity to play a good amount of Samba and Brazilian Jazz during the cocktail hour and during the meal. For the remainder of the dancing a wide variety of music was enjoyed by the guests.

A surprise appearance by a good friend of Caitlyn’s, Mike, resulted in him playing guitar and singing a few songs. He was an exceptionally talented musician and his music was enjoyed by all.

I honestly can’t remember a summer that has had more perfect weather. The lack of rain has been great for enjoyment although the farmers might not be so happy. But for weddings, it’s reason enough to be giddy. The morning of Gretchen and Thomas’ wedding was ominous… lots of rain. But by early-afternoon the rain had stopped and the sun reappeared giving way to another perfect day.

The wedding reception took place at the Ithaca Farmer’s Market. It’s a lovely, open-air  location and offers a beautiful and natural setting. After the cocktail hour, formal introductions of the parents and bridal party took place. Gretchen and Thomas had their first dance to a great song, “Lonely Night in Georgia” by Marc Broussard.

Toasts were given by the Maid of Honor-Kimberly, ,Matron of Honor-Sherin, and the Best Man-Christopher.

Once the open dancing began, the guests were ready to burn up the dance floor and that’s pretty much how the rest of the evening went. A full dance floor all evening with a brief break for the cake cutting. Right after the cake cutting, all the Cornell University alumni gathered on the dance floor to sing along with the Cornell Alma Mater that was played. You’ve got to love the spirit!
