After a seemingly endless string of rainy weekends, this day, October 7, 2006 was one of the most magnificent days of the year. The sky was cloudless and the perfect shade of blue. The temperature was just right, about 70. The Autumn colors were at their peak and the location of the wedding and reception, The Fontainebleau Inn, was the perfect setting to savor this uncommonly beautiful day. And if all that weren’t enough, there was a Full Harvest Moon that rose shortly after sunset.
I departed for Stacy and Brent’s wedding reception much earlier than normal because I wanted to be able to spend a little time taking in all the beauty The Fontainebleu has to offer. I took the opportunity to take a variety of photos of the grounds which can be viewed below.
Stacy and Brent utilized The Lawrence Chapel for their wedding ceremony. The Chapel is situated within walking distance of The Fontainebleau Inn and is accessible via a beautiful wooded trail. It was just gorgeous strolling through the grounds to the chapel.
After the ceremony, the guests and eventually the Bride and Groom, made their way back to the inn to enjoy the afternoon outside on the patio which overlooks Cayuta Lake (not to be confused with Cayuga Lake). Hope’s Way catered the reception and the hors d’oeuvres and meal were absolutely out of this world. Lisa McQueeney was the photographer and she brought a lot of joyful energy along with her camera.
For their first dance, Stacy and Brent danced to “Fly Me To The Moon” by Frank Sinatra. Stacy and her Father danced to Lee Ann Womack’s, “I Hope You Dance” and Brent and his Mother danced to “A Song For My Son”.
Lots of dancing ensued and when it was time for the last dance, I think everyone realized what a perfect day it had been. Congratulations Stacy and Brent and thanks for letting me share in your day!
