My first wedding of 2009 was at Cornell University. Allison and David had their ceremony at Sage Chapel with the reception in the Terrace at the on-campus Statler Hotel. It was a on-again, off-again, rainy day but miraculously Allison and David managed to skirt the bad weather.

First Dance
The couple had an intimate reception and after a wonderfully relaxed meal, the guests danced enthusiastically for the entire evening. Allison and David had their first dance to the song “No One” by Alicia Keys. The version of the song they chose was not the radio version, but a much nicer and more sparse arrangement that Alicia Keyes had performed in an “unplugged” performance. Following the first dance, Allison dance with her father to the song “In My Life” by The Beatles.
The lovely (and delicious) wedding cake was prepared by Leslie of Just Desserts. My friend Alisha Clark was the photographer and she was instrumental in giving the newlyweds a few last minute tips on the cake cutting procedure. Alisha is getting married herself ( to Luke Walker, another friend and great photographer) in just a few weeks. The cake was actually cut with an antique knife provided by the bride’s aunt.
The guests had a great time on the dance floor. One couple had some amazing dance moves during the playing of a Brooks and Dunn song and the entire group did a killer job with the Cupid Shuffle. I even played Footloose in response to a request and it was so much fun to see everyone enjoy it so much. It was a great wedding to kick off my season with and it was so nice to work with the Statler staff who always do a stellar job. Thank you to Allison, David and their families for making me feel so welcome and for allowing me to be a part of their special occasion. Enjoy some more photos I took of your wedding reception…
